Brian and Amy (Profile #: 5965)

Dear Birthmother,

God’s imprint on our lives is evident in so many ways; from the manner in which we met because Brian had signed up for the wrong math class, to the cherished memories that each of us shared with our grandmothers, and especially now, in the path that has led us to you. In the early years of our relationship we dreamt about our first jobs, our first house and everything that life has to offer. Today, we are trying to realize our dream of becoming parents. In this letter we hope to tell you why we feel so strongly about becoming parents and all of the things that we think will make parenting such a wonderful privilege and blessing.

We were high school sweethearts and decided during college that we were ready to spend our lives together. Sure we were younger than most, but love transcends age. Amy worked full time in the payroll department of a small firm while Brian finished his final two years of college.  Then, during Brian’s senior year, his Grandma took ill and needed someone to live with her or else she would be forced into a nursing home. Because family is so important to us and Brian had such a special relationship with his grandmother, we decided to move in with her so she could maintain some degree of independence. Even though this ended up not being a long term commitment (she passed away after six months), we are glad we were able to make that time special for her. Today Brian is a successful Finance Manager for a leading financial services firm and Amy is anxiously awaiting her next role as a stay at home mom.

Currently we live with two other family members, our cats, Corvetta and Jefferson. We are both the oldest children in our families and will be the first to bless them with a grandchild/great grandchild. Family and friends are the two most important things in our lives. In fact, after college we chose to move back to our hometown where Amy’s parents, brother and sister live as do Brian’s grandparents, father and our close friends.

We have been married for a little over six years and find that with each passing year our love grows deeper. We gain a greater understanding of each other, create lifelong memories and together see more and more of our dreams coming true. We believe that the greatest expression and extension of our love would be to raise a child together. We are looking forward to all of the things we can teach a child, being there as our child experiences all life has to offer. No matter how small any event seems to us as adults, to a child every experience is new and exciting.

We love to barbeque and watch football on the weekends and enjoy bonfires on cool summer nights. We love to travel and take several small vacations throughout the year. Going to the lake and renting a cabin has been a lifelong tradition in Amy’s family and we are so looking forward to sharing this with our child someday. We both have very fond memories of going to Sunday school and Vacation Bible school as children. In fact, Amy’s mom taught Sunday school and now she is looking forward to the day when she can do the same for our child.

In closing, we would like to thank you for considering us to be the parents of your little miracle.  Although we can’t promise to be perfect, we can promise that we will love your child as much as you so clearly do, and raise him or her with the same Christian values we learned as children.  We will always strive to do right by you, cherish the gift you have given us and hope in our hearts that you are happy and living out your dreams.

Love, Brian and Amy
