Dear Birthmother,

We know that this is a difficult decision for you, and we would like you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you as you summon the strength and courage to deal with this challenge in your life. We hope and pray that you’ll give us the opportunity to raise your baby on what is truly a little piece of paradise in California. He/she will be surrounded by love and beauty, and will be raised in a Christian home.
 
We are Gary and Janet. We were both raised in Christian families in rural farming communities, and we are fond and proud of this way of life. Although we are both well educated and could have careers in the big city, we prefer the lifestyle and the ‘community feeling’ of living among our country neighbors. We don’t think there’s a better place in the world to raise children. Our families, as well as our neighboring families, have always devoted an abundance of time to teach children ‘old fashioned’ values such as faith, honesty, caring, respect, etc.
 
We are happily married, we love and support one another, and we are best friends. It had been our dream since marriage to conceive our own children. However after tremendous effort and significant expense, we realized that this was not God’s plan for our lives. Adoption was God’s answer to our prayers. Our dream of parenting became a reality with the adoption of our beautiful daughter. We now know more than ever, how much love for children we have in our hearts, how much we have to give them, and how more than anything in the world we want to continue building our family. We also know that one of the greatest gifts we could ever give our daughter is a sibling to love and go through life with.

Janet: Gary is the love of my life. He is the ‘rock’ amongst our family and friends. He runs our farm and is also the head coach of a youth center here in our community. I think the most amazing thing about Gary is his ‘way’ with children and animals. They just love him. He has a commanding presence, but is extremely patient and gentle. He is the one who everyone turns to for advice. He always seems to have the right answer, or to know how to make a situation better.

Gary: Janet is the most wonderful mother a child could ask for. She is the most caring and understanding person I’ve ever met. Her patience and gentle demeanor are evident in everything she does, but you can see that extra sparkle in her eyes when there’s a child involved. Janet loves to cook, garden and travel. She is the CFO of a resort and spa in a neighboring community. She enjoys what she does and is ecstatic that she is able to work a great deal from home. Between our schedules, one of us is always available to be at home with children.

We can’t thank you enough for considering us as the parents to raise your baby. More than anything, we would like you to know that if you give us this opportunity, he/she will be loved and cared for with every breath we take. Please know that by having the courage to make this unselfish decision to give this baby life, and to help us with our dream of raising children, you will be rewarded in knowing that your child will be in a family where they couldn’t possibly be loved more. You have our solemn vow that your child’s health and happiness will be what we live for. May God bless you and guide you in this important time in your life.
